KSP, coroner’s office work house fire in Whitley Co.

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- According to The News Journal, State Police, the Whitley County Coroner’s Office and numerous volunteer fire departments are on the scene of a fatal house fire in the Rockholds’ community.

The newspaper says the structure fire was at a home on 74 Gail Hart Road.

Neighbors told The News Journal a couple lived at the residence. One neighbor reported seeing a man leave the home about 11 a.m. Friday.

Other neighbors said they had not seen anyone at the home in a couple of days.

The fire gutted the single story home, which had a basement.

As of 5 p.m., firefighters were still working to extinguish the blaze.

So far, firefighters haven’t indicated what they think caused the fire.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the case along with Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley.
