KSP arrest Trigg County man after pursuit and collision

CADIZ, KY (WTVQ) A Trigg County man is in jail after leading troopers on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.

Troopers attempted to stop a Ford SUV on Main Steet in Cadiz for speeding and not having registration plates.

The driver, 22 year-old Preston Hightower of Cadiz, did not stop, but led troopers on a high-speed chase on Highway 68/80 and then on to Kings Chapel Road.

Hightower reached 100 miles per hour during the chase.

He lost control and rolled the SUV several times while on Kings Chapel Road.

Hightower was treated at the scene for minor injuries then arrested.

He has been charged with  speeding, no registration plates, first degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, first degree wanton endangerment, aggravated driving under the influence second offence, operating on a suspended license, no insurance, and possession of marijuana.

A passenger in the vehicle, 22 year-old Leslie Sisco of Hopkinsville, was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The chase and crash are still under investigation.
