Kroger filling 300 vacancies across the region

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Moving into the fall and holiday seasons, some retailers are filling job vacancies.

One of those is Kroger, which said Wednesday it hopes to fill as many as 300 openings across the state through hiring events this weekend.

“We have a variety of positions that we need to fill across Kentucky,” said Erin Grant, Kroger corporate affairs manager for the Louisville Division. “Positions are available in every department including front end, deli, meat, pickup and grocery.”

The events are 12 p.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at select locations, including ones in Lexington and Georgetown.

Interested applicants should go to to apply, then visit a participating store for the hiring event. In Lexington, the hiring events are at the Kroger stores on Richmond Road, Beaumont Center, and Euclid Avenue and in Georgetown at the store on Marketplace Circle.

According to the company,

  • Starting Wage of $10.50 to $12.25 per hour based on approved experience (excluding courtesy clerks/baggers without experience)
  • Pay Increases in 6 or 12 months
  • Yearly Tuition reimbursement up to $3,500 after 6 months of service
  • Night Owl? Start your shift between 9 pm and 1 am, earn an extra $1.00 per hour night premium on regular hours
  • Discount on groceries
