Kroger becomes first US retailer to offer COVID-19 rapid antibody tests

CINCINNATI, OH (WTVQ) – Kroger announced Wednesday it will soon offer COVID-19 rapid antibody testing at its pharmacies and clinics, becoming the first retailer in the country to do so.

The Cincinnati-based supermarket chain says the tests will initially only be available at its pharmacies in California and Michigan, but plans to have it in all locations by the end of November.

Kroger says most test results will be available in 15-minutes following a fingerstick blood sample.  The cost will be $25.

The company says people who don’t have any coronavirus symptoms, but believe they were previously infected, are eligible for the test.
