Amid controversy, Knox Co. BOE chairman resigns
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Friday, Education Commissioner Stephen Pruitt received and accepted the resignation of Dexter Smith, chairman of the Knox County Board of Education.
This after Kentucky State Police raised questions over the validity of Smith’s online-purchased high school diploma, alleging that Smith had someone else take the equivalency test in his place.
The Kentucky Commissioner of Education now will begin the process of appointing a new member to the Knox County Board of Education.
