Knott County power outage blamed on eager beaver

PIPPA PASSES, Ky. (WTVQ) – A power outage Thursday that left around one-thousand customers without electricity was because of an eager beaver, according to Kentucky Power.

The utility says a beaver gnawed through a tree near Pippa Passes, which fell onto a power line.

Power was out just over a half-hour, according to the company.
