Knott County Police Officer Suspended Over Vehicle Use
Officials said Officer Nelson Reynolds took his police vehicle to Kingsport, Tennessee for a family emergency.
A picture shown to county officials and circulated to media outlets, showed Reynolds’ vehicle parked in a handicap parking space in Kingsport.
County officials said Reynolds had a disabled person with him at the time, so there wasn’t a problem with where he parked, but that he violated policy by not receiving permission from a supervisor to take the vehicle out of the county.
Officials said in addition to the unpaid suspension, Reynolds must reimburse the county for mileage.
