Kim Davis jailed, Marriage licenses will be issued

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) — When asked if she would allow her deputy clerks to issue marriage licenses without interference on September 3, Kim Davis refused.

Davis is back in federal custody, and will be jailed for contempt of court.

The five deputies who agreed to grant licenses will resume their duties at the County Clerk’s office in Rowan County, signing marriage licenses for couples.

A question remains: Will the marriage licenses be legally valid without the signature of the Clerk?
