KHSAA State Baseball – Day 2 recap

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Scott County advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinals in dramatic fashion.

The Cardinals needed 8 innings to top Caldwell County 1-0.  Cooper Robb brought home the winning run with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th.

Scott County will meet Bullitt East at 6 o’clock.  The Chargers took care of Oldham County 6-3 in the second game of the day at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Hazard topped North Laurel 1-0.  Campbell County took care of Ohio County 5-1.  The Bulldogs and Camels are set for an 8:30 first pitch to follow Scott County and Bullitt East.

Saint X and West Jess will get the quarterfinal action started Saturday morning at 11.

McCracken County and Johnson Central will follow the Tigers and Colts.  First pitch for the Mustangs and Eagles is set for 1:30.
