Kentucky Utilities Wants To Raise Rates

Kentucky Utilities and Louisville Gas and Electric said they planned to ask for permission to raise rates.

KU said it wanted to increase revenue by almost 10%.

The Public Service Commission would have to approve the request.

The proposed rate increase would mean that a person using 1200 kilowatt hours per month would pay about $11 more.
According to Business Lexington, the money would help pay for a new natural gas generator.
