Kentucky State University recognized as a top institution by College Consensus

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Kentucky State University was recently recognized as a top institution by College Consensus, a college review aggregator.

Kentucky State ranked 18th in the best Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) category, 19th in the best college and universities in Kentucky category, 40th in the best regional colleges in the South category and 280th in the best public colleges and universities category.

According to the College Consensus website, whether students are looking for a supportive and inclusive community, a challenging and uplifting academic environment, or the networking opportunities of the legendarily loyal HBCU alumni, students can trust College Consensus to provide a comprehensive picture of the nation’s best HBCUs.

College Consensus officials added that public colleges and universities are a vital part of higher education in America, offering a more affordable and accessible option for students.

Regional colleges, the College Consensus website said, offer degrees in career and professional fields at usually affordable rates.

“That means regional colleges do the grunt work of educating a middle-class workforce, and in the South, that often means helping rehabilitate rural and industrial areas,” according to the website. “From nursing and healthcare to computer science and technology, regional colleges get people working.”
