Kentucky State Police investigating officer-involved shots fired incident; suspect identified
UPDATE: Lexington Police say 20-year-old Jaylin Clark was arrested in connection to the officer-involved shooting incident Monday morning.
Police say Clark is charged with Wanton Endangerment of a Police Officer, Carjacking, Fleeing or Evading Police, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and an unrelated warrant.
He’s being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shots fired incident in Lexington.
The shooting happened shortly after two Monday morning, impeding traffic on Richmond Road.
“Around 2:05 a.m., officers were dispatched for a reported robbery that occurred in the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive.” Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers.
According to police, once they got there, officers found a person had been robbed and their vehicle was stolen.
Police say the vehicle was found a short time later at an apartment complex on Lakeshore Drive.
“Officers arrived at the apartment complex when an individual with a rifle fled on foot,” said Weathers. “Officers followed the individual and the individual fired a shot.”
Officials say an officer then shot back at the alleged suspect. Police say no one was hit by gunfire.
“The suspect sustained minor injuries from the foot pursuit and was treated at a local hospital. They have since been released and are in custody. ”
Police say they expect charges to be filed against the suspect.
According to officials, the officers have been placed on administrative assignment, which is standard procedure in cases like this, while KSP investigates.
