Kentucky State creating center to research education gaps

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Kentucky State University is creating a center to research educational disparities.

A statement from the school says its Board of Regents voted last week to approve the creation of The Center for Research on the Eradication of Educational Disparities.

Kentucky State University Interim Provost Lucian Yates III said the center will research disparities and ways to close educational gaps. Yates said an expert on educational disparities, Roger Cleveland, will lead the center.

Cleveland says the center mainly will focus on research, educator training and community engagement.
