Kentucky sending 110 electric workers to help in Hurricane Florence recovery

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Crews from Kentucky will be heading to Virginia to help restore power if Hurricane Florence knocks it out.

The Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives says at least 15 Kentucky electric cooperatives are gearing up to help other co-ops who have requested their help in Virginia.

A group of 110 lineworkers, consisting of construction crews, service crews and support staff, are scheduled to deploy Saturday morning, one day after the Category 4 hurricane is scheduled to make landfall.

The association says additional crews from Kentucky could be deployed.
