Kentucky River investigation closes Valley View Ferry

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An ongoing search and investigation along the Kentucky River has closed down the Valley View Ferry for the remainder of the day Monday.

Officials say a tip led them to believe that there may be evidence of a crime in or around the Kentucky River.  Lexington authorities have a dive team on scene, where Tates Creek Road meets the Kentucky River.

The paddlewheel ferry shuttles vehicles across the Kentucky River between Madison and Jessamine counties.

The ferry began operations in 1785.
