Kentucky parks planning eclipse-related events
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Some Kentucky state parks are planning events in connection with the Aug. 21 solar eclipse.
Parks officials say Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park will host a University of Louisville astronomy professor for a presentation the weekend before the eclipse.
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is hosting an eclipse beach party. Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site will offer visitors a view from ancient mounds.
Parks officials say event and parking fees will be charged at some parks for the special events.
They say most park lodges and campgrounds are full for the Aug. 18-21 weekend, but there may be some openings.
