Kentucky now has two million registered organ donors
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky now has two million registered organ donors, according to Kentucky Circuit Clerks.
Since 2006, as people get drivers licenses and license renewals, clerks ask them if they want to become organ donors.
Trust for Life says 99-percent of people who join the organ donor registry, do so while getting a driver’s license.
“Thanks to the incredible support of Kentuckians and people registering as organ donors, we have had two groundbreaking years back-to-back in the number of organ transplants that have happened here in our region,” said Shelley Snyder, Executive Director of Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks’ Trust.
