Kentucky firefighters to help in Oklahoma

KENTUCKY (WTVQ)- Dozens of Kentucky firefighters will spend the week in Oklahoma.

The Department of Forestry says it’s sending fire crews to help fight wildfires there.

According to the department, fires have destroyed about 50,000 acres of land in the state.

Those fires have also destroyed homes and killed livestock.

Kentucky firefighters say they expect to stay in Oklahoma for a couple weeks.
