Kentucky fire departments to receive grants
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – More than a dozen Kentucky fire departments have been awarded grants in support of their year-round efforts to protect the communities they serve.
Kentucky American Water says it will give $7,500 to 15 fire departments in the state.
Since launching the program in 2011, Kentucky American Water says it has donated more than $72,000 to help fire departments in Kentucky.
Officials say the following organizations will each receive a $500 grant in 2019: Blue Grass Airport Department of Public Safety, Climax Volunteer Fire Department, Franklin County Fire Department, Glencoe Fire Department, Harrison County Fire Protection District, Hutchinson Station Volunteer Fire Department, Jonesville Fire Department, Lexington-Fayette County Fire Department, Millersburg Fire and Rescue Department, Monterey Volunteer Fire Department, North Middletown Fire Department, Owen County Fire Department, Owenton Fire Department, Pongo Volunteer Fire Department and Woodford County Fire Protection District.
