Kentucky Blood Center and UK to host blood drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- You will receive a free t-shirt and be entered to win four Thunder Over Louisville passes when you donate blood during UK’s blood drive.

The Center for Community Outreach at University of Kentucky has announced a partnership with the Kentucky Blood Center and details for the on-campus blood drive.

The blood drive takes place from April 2 to the 6 at several locations across campus.

On Monday, April 2, the blood drive will be held at Singletary Center for the Arts from 10 AM to 6 PM and at the Johnson Center from 1 to 7 PM.

Tuesday: William T. Young Library from 10 AM to 4 PM and the Singletary Center from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Wednesday: Singletary Center from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Thursday: Funkhouser Building from 10 AM to 4 PM and the Singletary Center from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Friday: Singletary Center from 10 AM to 4 PM.

The Kentucky Blood Center has been saving lives through blood drives for 50 years by keeping all the blood donated, here in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Blood Center services 70 medical facilities across 90 Kentucky counties and is the sole provider of blood products to UK Healthcare, which houses a level 1 trauma center, transplant center, and cancer facility.

UK Healthcare also serves as a referral facility for seriously ill patients which generates a high demand for blood.

All donors must present a photo ID at the time of donation.
