Kentucky Blood Center to hold blood drive at UK
Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) — The Kentucky Blood Center will return to the UK campus from April 1st to April 5th.
They will be at the William T. Young Library on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., the Gatton Student Center from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Lewis Honors College on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The hope with these hours is to make it easier for people to stop by during their busy schedules.
According to KBC, this is a final opportunity for students, faculty and staff to donate blood on campus for the 2023-24 school year.
Eric Lindsey, with KBC, spoke about why giving blood is so fulfilling.
“Ultimately in my pinion the biggest reward is if you through that experience and you get that text message a few days later that says where your blood goes,” said Lindsey. “That’s really going to drive home, to me, it makes people understand. Often times people think it’s just that 45 minute process and the donations over, and that’s really just the first part of that story. Like there’s a person behind that time you’re taking, so for me that’s the ultimate reward.”
Anyone on campus that would like to donate can schedule an appointment by calling 800-775-2522 or simply walk in if you have the time.
