Kentucky Basketball players to host “Players First Fan Fest” Aug. 29

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – Coach Cal and his Cats have often set the bar. Whether it was the “one-and-done” era or having a live, televised pro day, Cal has often been the trendsetter. It looks like he has done it again. On Monday night, multiple basketball Cats came on to Instagram Live with ESPN’s Jordan Schultz. Dontaie Allen tipped it off by breaking news about a “Players First Fan Fest”. The event will feature a skills competition, three-point contest, dunk contest, and more. The kicker, thanks to the new name, image, likeness rules from the NCAA, the players will be able to get paid for the event.

The fan fest will take place Sunday, August 29th at 11:30 AM at Rupp Arena. Iowa transfer CJ Fredrick plans to take part in the three-point contest and he had this to say;

“We’re super excited to see you all at Rupp. We’re going to put on a show for everybody and we hope to see out there. It’s going to be a really fun weekend.”
