Kentucky Baptist volunteers headed to Louisiana to help with flood relief
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief is sending a group of flood recovery and Chaplain teams to help those affected by flooding in Louisiana.
Thousands of homes have been damaged and at least four deaths have been reported since the flooding started last week when rains dumped 15-20 inches of rain on the state.
About 25 people from the Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief are leaving Thursday morning for Farmerville in north-central Louisiana where about 1,500 homes are flooded and water is still rising.
ABC 36 caught up with one of the team leaders before the trip. Watch the video to hear his story.
Kentucky Baptists are asking people to pray for the teams responding and for the thousands affected across the South.
