Keeneland to host world’s largest Derby party

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – If you can’t make it to Churchill Downs this weekend, you can still get your fill of Derby festivities at Keeneland, as they host the world’s largest Kentucky Derby Celebration.

The two-day event kicks off May 1st as fans enjoy the Martinis on the Lawn event, and watch the Longines Kentucky Oaks race.  On Derby Day, concessions and bars are open throughout the grandstands, and with over 1,000 televisions throughout the track, you can catch the Derby no matter where you happen to be.

Admission to Keeneland is free on Oaks Day, and $5 dollars per person on Derby Day.  Kids 12 and younger will be admitted free on both days.  Gates open at 9:00 a.m. each day.  Post time for the Oaks is 5:49 p.m., while the Derby will run at 6:24 p.m.
