Keeneland Fall Meet starts Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –  Keeneland’s Fall Meet kicks off Friday.

This could be the most important Fall Meet ever for the track, as it prepares for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.  It is the first time the track has hosted the event, which takes place October 30-31, just six days after the fall meet ends.

Gates open at 11:00 this morning and the first post is at 1:05 p.m.  The 17-day racing event will feature 16 stakes races worth more than five million dollars  in purse money.
