Jessamine County’s Annual Black History Celebration

Anna Kenion is one of the organizers of Jessamine County’s Annual Black History Month Celebration.  She will discuss Jessamine County’s continuing efforts to create an event that focuses on “Hope and Harmony in a Changing World.”  She will also discuss other Black History Month events in Jessamine County.

Dr. Stephen McBride is the Director of Interpretation and Archaeology at the newly-designated Camp Nelson National Monument.  He will discuss Camp Nelson’s pivotal role in civil rights in the U.S.—and why that makes Camp Nelson an excellent place to visit during Black History Month.
