Jenna Oakley to face sentence in stepmother’s killing

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) — In Boyle County, Jenna Oakley’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for 9 o’clock Friday morning.

Last month, Oakley pleaded guilty to manslaughter and stealing her stepmother Rhonda Oakley’s car.

Police found Jenna and her boyfriend in that car in New Mexico, two days after Rhonda Oakley was killed.

Jenna’s boyfriend, Kenneth Nigh, attempted to hang himself after being taken into custody, which resulted in his death at a hospital.

When Jenna Oakley pleaded guilty last month, her father, Phillip, told ABC 36, “For the amount of time that she received for taking a life, I just don’t think it’s fair.”

The judge’s recommended sentence was 15 years, 10 for manslaughter and five for auto theft.

We’ll bring you an update after that sentencing hearing.
