Jefferson circuit judgeship nominees announced

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Press Release) – The Judicial Nominating Commission, led by Chief Justice of Kentucky John D. Minton Jr., today announced nominees to fill the judicial vacancy for Jefferson Circuit Court. Jefferson County makes up the 30th Judicial Circuit and the vacancy is in the circuit’s Division 1.

The three nominees for the judgeship are attorneys Thomas Wesley “Wes” Faulkner, Jessica Evonne Green and Eric Joseph Haner, all of Louisville.

Faulkner has his own private law practice and has 32 years of litigation experience. He previously served as a prosecutor for the Jefferson County Office of Commonwealth’s Attorney and was general counsel for the Kentucky Medical Board, for which he handled cases involving physician discipline and credentialing. He received his juris doctor from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.

Green has had her own private law practice for more than eight years and has served on Louisville Metro Council for more than six years. She previously served as a prosecutor for the Offices of Commonwealth’s Attorney for Jefferson and Hardin counties. She received her juris doctor from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law.

Haner has served as a District Court judge for Jefferson County for more than seven years and was previously in private practice. He received his juris doctor from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.

The judicial seat will become vacant when Judge Barry Willett retires June 30.
