JCSO: Man on the loose after punching sheriff’s deputy

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man with warrants out against him in two central Kentucky counties is on the loose after punching a sheriff’s deputy, according to the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say a deputy was called to Tates Creek Estates around 2:00 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic case.

When the deputy went into the home, Homer Estes, Junior got into a scuffle with him, punched him and ran off into the nearby woods, according to the sheriff’s office.

The deputy wasn’t seriously injured, according to the sheriff’s office.

K-9 units and the Lexington Police helicopter were called in to search for Estes.  The helicopter had to leave the search area due to the weather.

Investigators say Estes has multiple warrants out against him in Jessamine and Garrard counties.
