Jaws of life used to free driver after violent crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The jaws of life had to be used to get a woman in her 20’s out of the pickup truck she was driving after she slammed into a tree in Lexington, according to the fire department.

It happened just after midnight at the intersection of Kenesaw Drive and Golden Oak Drive, according to police.

The woman, whose name wasn’t released, suffered life-threatening injuries, according to investigators.

The Lexington Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was called to the scene to try to determine why the pickup left the road prior to hitting the tree.
