LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Thursday! Bundle up as you head out the door this morning, it’s a cold start to the day. A cold front passed Wednesday afternoon, bringing us another shot of colder air. Expect mostly sunny and partly cloudy skies through much of the day today. Seasonably cool afternoon temperatures for most, with low 50s likely for Lexington northward, with mid-50s possible into southern Kentucky. Dry conditions continue overnight before rain chances return on Friday.

Isolated-to-scattered showers are in the forecast to close out the workweek. Expect a few showers for the Friday morning commute, especially in central Kentucky. It won’t be a washout, but you can expect showers off and during the afternoon and evening after the morning chance. Temperatures will spike into the mid-60s, maybe even the upper 60s in southern Kentucky. A few lingering showers may continue into Saturday morning, but most areas will be drying out during the midday. Temperatures will be cooler for Saturday as well, struggling to reach the low 50s.

Temperatures return to near normal on Sunday and will likely climb all the way into the upper 60s by Monday of next week. This will lead to a more active weather pattern next week. This will start with showers and thunderstorm chances on Tuesday, with another system likely by the end of next week.
