It’s a “Go Day” for your Tuesday

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Tuesday, it’s a Dillon Gaudet “Go Day”! Beautiful conditions are in the forecast today. Afternoon highs will be reaching the mid-to-upper 60s after a chilly start to the day. Unfamiliar with what a “Go Day” is? It’s the best weather day of the week with zero weather concern. It’s a great day to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Temperatures warm up even more on Wednesday and Thursday, but there will be a few pop-up showers and storms possible both days. Neither day will be a washout but don’t be caught off guard by an isolated shower or storm. Thursday will likely be the warmest day of the week, with mid-70s possible for most areas.

Scattered-to-widespread showers and a few storms return to the forecast late Thursday into Friday. The bulk of the rain will fall early in the day on Friday, with around half an inch to an inch worth of rain possible across central & eastern Kentucky.

Temperatures stay mild despite the rain on Friday, but that all changes late this weekend into early next week. A cold front sweeps through the region Sunday and that will drop temperatures into the 40s on Monday, with even colder temperatures possible by Tuesday of next week. A few snowflakes can’t be ruled out either. Don’t get too comfortable with the warm temperatures this week because changes are on the way.
