Investigation underway after teen hit by train
DRY RIDGE, Ky. (WTVQ)-State Police say a person was hit by a train near Needham Lane around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators say two teenage girls, a 17-year-old and 18-year-old, were walking on the railroad right-of-way, when a train was approaching.
The 18-year-old was able to move out of the way, and fell down an embankment causing minor injuries. The 17-year-old was not able to get clear of the train and was hit.
Troopers say the 17-year-old was airlifted to Cincinnati Hospital with a serious injury to her leg. The trooper says he was able to control bleeding by using a tourniquet. No word on her condition.
