Child in home during drug trafficking arrest
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says a young child was in a home where an investigation into an argument ended with a drug trafficking charge.
According to the Sheriff, deputies went to a home off Sasser Road around 2:20 p.m. on Monday, after receiving a report of two women involved in a dispute. When they arrived, deputies say they found 41-year-old Mittie Napier with needles, small plastic baggies containing what is believed to be methamphetamine, and a large amount of cash.
Officers also say a young boy was found in the home.
Napier was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a minor, and wanton endangerment. She was also charged on outstanding warrants.
Napier was taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
Social services was notified, and the child was released to relatives.
