Inmate Found Dead In Kentucky River Regional Jail
Kentucky State Police are investigating a death at the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard.
Troopers say 54-year-old Larry J. Trent was found unresponsive July 9th around 11:00 a.m. and was taken to Hazard ARH Medical Center where the coroner pronounced him dead.
According to investigators, Trent and jail staff were involved in a fight that morning around 7:00 when workers restrained him and put him into a holding cell.
They say just before 11:00, a jail employee checked on Trent and found him unresponsive.
