Injury crash involving motorcycle and garbage truck in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A crash involving a motorcycle and a garbage truck has left at least one person injured.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday on Nicholasville Road at Marketplace Drive.

According to Lexington Police, the garbage truck was turning left on the inbound lane of Nicholasville Road when a motorcyclist hit the side of the truck.

Police believe the motorcyclist ran a red light.

They say the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

At least three lanes of traffic were blocked while crews worked to clear up the scene.
