Information sought in burglary
WAYNESBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help following a burglary at a Dollar General in Waynesburg. Investigators say around 4:00 a.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015, two men cut a hole in the back wall of the store, got inside, turned off the power and disabled the alarm system.
Investigators say the two thieves unbolted the safe from the floor, put it on a stock cart and wheeled it over to an emergency fire door and took it outside. The men stole 25-to-30 cartons of cigarettes and $4,200 in cash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say they were able to get about 4-minutes of security camera video before the power was cut off. They hope that will help them catch the two men. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with any information about the burglary to call 606-365-2696.
