Indiana woman accused of stealing car caught in Kentucky

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman accused of stealing a car in Indiana was captured in Kentucky, according to Kentucky State Police.

Investigators say a call came in from Evansville Police about a stolen car believed to be headed south on Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway.

Troopers say they saw a car matching the description of the stolen vehicle at mile marker 15. They say they stopped the car and arrested 59-year-old Shirley Kaye Smith, of Evansville, Indiana.

Troopers say she was taken into custody without incident.

Smith is charged with receiving stolen property.
