I-65 northbound shut down between Munfordville, Horse Cave

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A crash on Interstate 65 in south-central Kentucky between Horse Cave and Munfordville has closed down the northbound lanes and snarled southbound traffic.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the crash happened on the Green River Bridge in a work zone and that the bridge wall was hit. The bridge has been inspected, and the cabinet says there’s no structural concern.

A northbound detour has been set up at Exit 58 to either U.S. 31W or U.S. 31E, but 31W is also congested, and travelers are being urged to use caution at intersections.

The closure is expected to last several hours.
