Husband charged with manslaughter after wife dies in shooting

CLAY CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police in Morehead have arrested a husband, following a shooting that left the man’s wife dead.

According to officers, they responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting incident on Echo Hollow Road in Clay City just before 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

When they arrived, detectives say they found a woman who had been shot.  She was taken to St. Joe’s Hospital in Mount Sterling where she was pronounced dead by the Montgomery Co. Coroner.

The victim’s husband, 48-year-old James Hood of Clay City was taken into custody and charged with Manslaughter.
