Hundreds Turn Out For ‘2nd Sunday’ Event In Lexington

It doesn’t matter if you walk, run, rollerblade, or push a stroller.

A community project just wants to get Kentuckians on their feet.

This year’s ‘2nd Sunday’ event in Lexington brought hundreds of people to Legacy Trail.

The program closes downtown streets, airport runways and other venues to encourage the community to get active.

It’s held throughout the state every year on the second Sunday of October.

Organizers say it’s especially important since close to one in three Kentuckians is obese.
