Humane society celebrates 70 years in Franklin County
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- There was a large party in Franklin County this weekend as the humane society there celebrated a milestone.
For 70 years, the Franklin County Humane Society has been serving the community in and around Frankfort. Saturday, the celebration included events all day long. There was a petting zoo, miniature horse rides, face painting and many other activities.
From 5 p.m – 7 p.m. Saturday evening, Capital Cellars helped out the celebration with its 4th annual “Pours for Paw” wine tasting event. After that, Bourbon on Main opened its doors to everyone, including four-legged friends for food and drink specials.
All the proceeds from the day are going toward the building of a new shelter for the humane society. If you’d like more information you can find it online at http://fchsanimals.org/ or by calling (502) 875-PAWS.
