House Condemned After Flash Flooding Damage

A woman had to be rescued overnight after the home she was in was destroyed by flash flood waters.

A creek near Kentucky 53 and Puncheon Creek Road in western Anderson County rose ten feet above normal, according to officials.

Crews rescued the woman from the third floor of the home.  The first floor collapsed into the basement.  The house was condemned as a result of the extensive damage.

Nearby, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church also suffered water damage.  Up to two-feet of water was reported inside the church.

A bridge in the area also had asphalt washed away.  Crews spent most of Thursday repairing the road damage.
