Home invasion turns deadly in Harrison County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A home invasion turned deadly in Harrison County after the homeowner shot the would-be invader.

Police say Sunday night, 57-year-old Marcellus Custard broke the glass out of the front door of a home on KY-1842 and was attempting to unlock the door, when the homeowner shot him.

Custard died from his injuries.

Investigators say Custard was the homeowners ex-husband.

She did not know it at the time because he was outside of the residence when he was shot, according to state police.

Police say the homeowner is currently not being charged.
