Highway reconstruction project starting Monday at Maysville
MAYSVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Traffic around Maysville in northeastern Kentucky is likely to become sluggish in the next few months as all lanes of U.S. 62 are rebuilt from the ground up and repaved.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the $4.4 million project is expected to continue through August, and traffic initially will be switched to one lane in each direction with a center turn lane in the work zone, which is a little over a mile.
Paving and repairs are also being made later this spring to a shorter section of U.S. 62.
The cabinet says as many as 17,000 vehicles travel U.S. 62 into Maysville daily, meaning slow traffic and delays are likely.
The Highways Department will post updates to a dedicated Twitter account, https://twitter.com/US62Maysville .
