High temperatures have Lexington moving up trash collection times
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – If you live in Lexington, you are going to have to put your trash out a little earlier over the next two days.
The city says, to keep its employees safe from the extreme high temperatures, trash collectors will be out earlier in the morning this week.
On Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19, commercial pickups will begin at 3 a.m., while residential pickups will start at 4 a.m.
The city says these times will reduce employees’ risk of heat-related injuries such as dehydration and other heat-related illnesses by finishing all routes before temperatures peak.
