Help build a miracle at Dairy Queen on Thursday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean it’s not a good time for a blizzard, and on Thursday, indulging in one of Dairy Queen’s frozen treats can help children in need of medical care.

Thursday is Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen restaurants across the country.  For every blizzard sold, there will a dollar donated to a local children’s hospital through Children’s Miracle Network.  In Lexington, the money will go to Kentucky Children’s Hospital.

Chloe Hurley, with Kentucky Children’s Hospital, says, “We use the funds to purchase life saving equipment, to provide training for clinicians, and to cover uncompensated care.”

Since 1986, Dairy Queen has raised over $100 million dollars for children’s hospitals.

They say the majority of that money comes from Miracle Treat Day.
