Heavy rainfall leads to rescue in Garrard County

GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) –A mother and child were rescued in Garrard County after their car became stranded in high water.

According to the Garrard County EMA/CSEPP Facebook page, it was among the many reports of stalled vehicles on Buckeye Road Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

“As little as 6 inches of water can push smaller vehicles,” the Garrard County EMA/CSEPP Facebook says.

Emergency officials are reminding the community to be cautious during heavy rains, as roads may be washed away, and there may be gravel wash-outs and debris on the roads . They also say to not cross flooded roads.
