Heavy Rainfall Causes River to Overtake Roadway

Emergency responders in Anderson County said heavy rainfall caused part of Rice Road to be swallowed by the Salt River Thursday morning.

According to officials, around three inches of rain fell in less than three hours, prompting a rise in numerous creeks and rivers.

At last report, emergency management said Rice Road and Dry Dock Road were closed due to the high waters.
