Growing number of schools cancel classes due to illness

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Clark County is one of a growing number of school systems cancelling classes the rest of the week due to illness.

In some school districts it’s not just the high number of students who are out sick, but faculty and staff as well.  One school administrator told ABC 36 News that they couldn’t find enough substitute teachers because so many of them were ill, so the district had no choice but to call off school.

Other school systems that cancelled classes the rest of this week include:

-Jackson Independent

-Owsley County

-Paris Independent

-Powell County

-Powell County Head Start

-Wolfe County
